Vedic Religion is foreign to India
By Dr. Sanjeev Sabhlok
The Vedic religion is all about fire worship. So what is the link (if any) between Vedas and Shiva and Ganesha – which have everything to do with fertility worship.
I’ve taken some material sent by Sanjay Sonawani and reviewed against well-referenced standards. These are my initial findings (many words continue to be that of Sanjay)
INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION DEFINITELY KNEW ABOUT THE ELEPHANT
The oldest elephant-type image in India so far was found at Harappa. (approx. 2600 BC). This is the image from Harappa.com, a reputed website.
This is extremely tiny: Approximate dimensions (W x H(L) x D): 5.4 x 4.8 x 4.6 cm. It is difficult to made deductions from this. However, it has some traces of vermillion. Further, it does look close enough to a modern Ganesha.
Elephant bones have also been found (see this )
SHIVA WAS DEFINITELY PART OF THE INDUS VALLEY BELIEF SYSTEM
A “proto-Shiva” was found in the Indus Valley:
A Shiva lingam has been found at Kalibangan site, dating back to 2600 BC.
RIG VEDA DID NOT DISPLAY CONCLUSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ELEPHANT
The word “Gana” in Rig veda appears as individual abstract deities, most probably Maruts,
“Ganapati” in Rigveda is used as an epithet of Brahmanaspati and verses themselves are clear that they were used to invoke abstract god who had nothing to do with elephant head god.
Vedic people might have heard about elephants but the verses show that they had no physical knowledge of elephants. The terms used for Elephants also are too ambiguous and this is why the commentators on Rig veda are not sure what actually Vedic people meant. No direct reference to “Hastin” is found in the Rigveda. (Note this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hastin#The_elephant_in_the_Rigveda )
The verses in Rigveda nowhere show the connection of Indra with elephant, even if considered that the Vedic clans knew elephant. In the later centuries, when Indra was depicted as lord of the heaven, he got a vehicle “Airavat”, a heavenly elephant. Rigvedic verses nowhere mention of existence of any Airavat or for that matter any vehicle of Indra.
DIDN’T VEDAS INVOKE GANESHA?
Allegedly, “Rig Veda begins with the invocation of Lord Ganesha, who is described as the Chief of Ganas (divine beings) and as the Supreme Seer (Rig Veda 2.23).” [Source]
But Sanjay Sonawani has clarified that “Vedic literature does not start with salutation to Ganesha. Interpolated fabricated literature has added him, including an inserted version in Mahabharata that depicts Ganesha as a writer of poet Vyasa. Rather, Mahabharata’s beginning lines salute Narayana and Sarasvati.
RUDRA AND SHIVA ARE NOT THE SAME
Rudra and Shiva are today considered one and the same but this is not true. Sanjay Sonawani provides the following information from Vedas as proof:
From the religious history of Hinduism, we can easily note that both the Gods are different and each representing the opposite religious traditions i.e. Vedic and Non-Vedic.
Shiva is the highly worshipped Indian deity, with millions of temples across the country. Not a single town or village is to be found where a Shiva shrine is absent. Shiva is worshipped either in the temples or in the open in his Lingam (Phallic) form. His consort Shakti (synonyms Parvati, Jagdamba, Amba etc.) are also worshiped in unified form with Shiva and also independently in abundant temples dedicated to Shakti across the country. Shiva-Shakti worship can be traced back to the Indus civilization where abundant proofs of Shiva worship have been found. All non-Vedic elements can be seen in Shiva images such as serpent in the neck, wearing tiger skin, residing in the hills and cemeteries, driving bull, being hunter etc.
Shiva has no space in the Vedic religion. Rather He is ridiculed as “Phallus God” (Shisnadeva) in the Rig Veda.
Rudra is an independent God of Rig Veda among other Vedas. The following information on Rudra is found in the Rig Veda and related texts.
- There are only three verses dedicated to Rudra in Rig Veda. In a way Rudra was a minor god of the Vedic people.
- Main epithet of Rudra is “Agni” (Fire).
- In Agnichayana (a kind of fire sacrifice) to keep the fire kindled, butter is constantly poured in the fire pit, while chanting “Shatarudriya”(Hymns addressed to Rudra) requesting him to immerse in the fire.
- Taittiriya Samhitastates state that a sacrifice conducted in favor of Rudra enriches the host (person making the sacrifice) like Indra.
- Vedic Rudra is as handsome as the supreme Vedic God Indra, having golden complexion. He wears golden necklace and holds golden axe. He helps Vedic people in finding lost cattle.
- In Rig Vedic descriptions Rudra is said to be older than oldest.
- Rudra’s father is Prajapati.(Maitrayani Sanhita,6:1-9). In a mythical story Rudra is said to have killed his father, Prajapati.
- Rudra is depicted as a destroyer of humankind and animals in Rig Veda. (RV 2.33.10)
- Rudra is not a single entity but is enumerated from 11 to 60 in different texts of Vedic literature. In this way, Rudra represents a group of deities bearing the same name. He also is often called the father of Maruts, another group of Vedic Gods.
- Rudrasavarni, 12thManu, is said to be the son of the Rudra.
- Dogs and Wolves are the pets of Rudra. (Atharva Veda 11.2.2)
This description of the Vedic Rudra dose not match with Shiva.
Shiva was and is a supreme God for the Non-Vedic people. Shiva is ajanma, having no birth or father. Indeed, Shiva is a concept of creation, preservation and destruction of the universe that is worshiped in phallic form. He has no son directly born to him, though kartikeya and Ganesha are associated with him as his sons in later times. Shiva’s mythical abode is mount Kailasa. None of the mythologies associated with him match with Rudra’s. Rather Shiva is called “Smarari”, destroyer of the fire sacrifices, while all Vedic rituals dedicated to Rudra are associated with fire sacrifices.
In fact, this point about the alleged “Shiva” of Vedas being quite different from the actual Shiva is made clear inadvertently by Doris Srinivasan in his “Unhinging Siva from the Indus Civilization”, The Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, No. 1 (1984), pp. 77-89
It is critical to observe that the animals depicted on the seal are all wild animals, being the elephant, tiger, buffalo and rhinoceros. In surveying the term pagupati in the Rig Veda and Atharva Veda, especially as it relates to Rudra, it is to be concluded that a pagupati does not protect wild animals. Verses in the Atharva Veda make it quite clear that a pagupati protects the domestic animals upon which the agrarian economy and ritual depend. The Vedic evidence would therefore not support the interpretation that the animals on seal 420 are within the domain of a Pasupati. Indeed there is further textual evidence in the Rig Veda and Atharva Veda that Rudra injures precisely those creatures under the protection of a Paiupati.
Srinivsan thinks that Shiva originated in the Vedas and since the seal doesn’t match the Vedic description, it can’t be the Shiva. But the fact is that Shiva originated in traditional Hinduism, including Indus Valley civilisation, and that Shiva is TOTALLY different to Pasupati of the Vedas.
EVOLUTION OF THE IDEA OF GANESHA
Gana in Indian culture always refers to the clans and Ganapati as clan head. Different clans used totems such as serpents, reptiles, birds, trees and elephants. Later when various tribes/clans did assimilitate, those totemic symbols were merged in single symbol.
Ganesha’s other epithet is “Vratapati”, lord of the Vratyas – which were non-vedic communities.
The iconology of Ganesha has evolved with time. We have couple of human-head Ganesha from Kushan era. The Ganesha we see today is a collective product of Naga, Yaksha, Vratya and Shiva culture.
GANESHA WAS THE ENEMY OF FIRE SACRIFICE
In the beginning Ganesha (aka Vinayak) was an enemy of fire sacrifices, causing obstruction to such sacrifices. Hence the first oblation was given to him asking him to go to the distant Mujavat mountain. Thus, Ganesha was considered a trouble-maker by the Vedics but was later was accepted as the destroyer of troubles.
WHAT ABOUT MAHAMRITUNJAYA MANTRA?
“Mahamritunjay mantra is mentioned in Rigveda” – said someone. I had no clue about this mantra. I’m informed by Sanjay that mahamrityunjay verse is addressed to “Tryanbak” (an epithet of the fire).
The meanings of Tryanbak is “one who has three fathers in Vedic sense. This term was applied to Shiva also as “one who has three eyes”. But these are entirely different concepts – Mhmrityunjay Mantra has nothing to do with Shiva.
In this regard, “Om” is absent throughout Vedas and other Vedic literature. Om is used mostly for Shiva and the gods in his pantheon. Om in mahamrityunjay mantra also is not found in the original text. The Original Rigvedic mantra simply starts with “Tryambakam yajamahe”. Om was inserted later to show affinity with Shiva.
WHAT ABOUT Yajurveda 4.5.8.1?
This verse states: “Hail to Shiva the most auspicious one, hail to Soma Rudra, hail to the red, copper hued one, hail to the terrible and fearful one, hail to the blue necked one, hail to Pashupati, hail to Shambhu, hail to Shankara, hail to Kapardin, the one with matted hair”- Yajurveda 4.5.8.1 [Source]
Sanjay’s response which I agree with – because he has a concrete theory that explains all facts, while the others don’t:
These verses are from Krishna Yajurveda’s Taaittiriya Samhita, which was used in the southern region only and might have originated there probably during the 1st century BC to third century A.D. – a far later composition (couldn’t be earlier than this as claimed and even if considered older, it is composed in India when Vedics were settled and had started spreading their religion with missionary practice). This mantra also appears without the initial Om in the eighth hymn.
This may be during the period of Vedic missionary entered south India and had to show semblance with Hindu popular gods.
Though Vedics tried to assimilate Shiva with Rudra, Shiva to Hindu remains as only Shiva. Rudra is not worshipped in Lingam form. [Sanjeev: This is the most crucial proof as far as I’m concerned]
These lines also appear in Vajasneyi Samhita of Shukla Yajurveda. This verse is part of Shatarudriya, a hymn in praise of Rudra in which this one line appears which mentions Shiva. But the entire Rudriya does not show that it is meant for Shiva. In fact, Shiva is used as an epithet to Rudra and some special attributes of Shiva have been used for Rudra. This does not make both one and the same.
Vedics created this verse out of their need to adapt to a foreign land. Thus, Christians in the medieval period wrote their own “Khrist Purana” in Indian Purana style to spread their message. Such a strategy seems to have been initiated by the Vedics – who inserted the mention of Shiva in a couple of places in late writings in order to “prove” that the Hindu Shiva is also Vedic – which he is obviously not.
WHAT ABOUT DURGA PARVATI AND THE MOTHER GODDESS CONCEPT?
Since Parvati, Durga and so on are crucial to the fertility focus of traditional Hinduism, to what extent do such goddesses find mention in the Vedas?
Since Parvati, Durga and so on are crucial to the fertility focus of traditional Hinduism, to what extent do such goddesses find mention in the Vedas?
Fertility is not part of Vedicism. The concept of “Mother Goddess” is absent in Vedic literature. Indologist Dr. RG Bhandarkar also states that the concept of the mother goddess is significant as it is more or less absent in the Vedas. Similarly, image worship which is so basic to the present day Hinduism was unknown in the Vedic and post Vedic periods, whereas there are indications that it was practiced by the people of Sindhu valley civilisation and so on.
The process and social ideology of both religions (Hinduism and Vedic religion) are completely opposite to each other which is reflected in their iconology and mythology.
Female goddesses are very few in the Vedas in comparison with about 640 male gods. Most female goddesses are the personification of natural elements such:
- Sarasvati (River)
- Ratri (Night)
- Dhatri (Earth)
- Ushas (the personification of the morning)
They are subordinate goddesses because the Vedic system is patriarchal and women are treated inferior to men. No Vedic goddess is prominent even today although the Vedics have tried to promote Sarasvati.
For instance, the consort of Vishnu, Laxmi is not originally a Vedic goddess nor does she finds any mention in the main body of Rigveda. Laxmi originally was worshipped in India in the Yakshini form and was associated with Vishnu in the Gupta era. But if we look and the iconology, Laxmi is not depicted as Mother Goddess and is subordinate to Vishnu serving him sitting at his feet whereas Shiva-Shakti is equal and unified in the form of Shivalingam and his Ardha-Nari Nateshvar form. Hindus give equal importance (and at some places even higher) to Shakti goddesses. That is why if there are 12 Jyotirlingas there are 52 main Shaktipeethas spread across the country.
MY NOTE REGARDING THE IMPLICATIONS OF SANJAY’S WORK
Once Vedic religion is proved to be distinct (and foreign) to Hinduism, it will have many political implications:
a) It will destroy RSS/BJP’s claim that Vedic Hinduism is indigenous. Since Vedic religion is foreign, their objections to Islam and Christianity become less valid.
b) It will destroy the concept of “varna”-based caste system. Vedics can continue with their caste if they wish. But most Hindus can then choose to abandon this nonsense and revert to their ancient tradition of total equality.
AND
c) It will bring back a focus on India’s many sceptical schools of thought. It will liberate India from all forms of social, internal, tyranny and make it meaningful as a society to focus on freedom and good governance.

Vedas are not the source of Hinduism
Weirdly, some think even after a lot many archaeological proofs Vedas are the source of Hinduism. The fact is that Vedic society had limited presence and that too in Kuru-Panchal and Magadha regions till the 6th century BC. Nowhere else, even in Maharashtra traces are found of the existence of Vedic people or their religion only after the first century BC and in the south, Sangam literature proves that before the third century AD Vedic religion was unknown to them. This only does mean that this religion gradually spread with conversions using missionary practices.
Also, it is a carefully crafted myth that Jainism and Buddhism arose to oppose Vedic ideology. The old Pali and Prakrit cannons of both religions do not support this claim. If you go through Tevijja Sutta, it will appear to you that Buddha has treated the Vedic religion as a distinct body as opposed to Hindus who had several philosophical streams. Idolatry, Devotion, Salvation, and Liberation were never part of Vedicism. The largest philosophical sect in Hinduism at that time was Sramana from which Ajeevkas, Buddism, Jainism, and many other sects sprang. Jina (Nigantha), Ajeevaka, and Vratya were the oldest pre-Vedic philosophical sects and were popular. This was the tradition of renunciation in Hinduism which Vedas oppose. Pancharatrins promoted devotion. Shiva-Shakti worship through Yoga and Tantric rituals were strictly prohibited in Vedic rituals calling them “Vedbahya”. There were numerous Tantric sects (the foundation of Hinduism) centered around the worship of Shiva-Shakti as their chief deity. Shiva is nowhere to be found in Vedas. Common people of those times followed simple idol worship adhering to some or other sectarian ritualistic practice.
Vedics entered India sometime in 1200 BC and by the sixth century, BC did find some space in a few states of northern India. Buddha challenges all the sects and their doctrines including Vedic as well. His mention and opposition to Vedas are as same as his opposition to Ajeevaka and Sankhya Doctrine. Indeed all philosophical sects of Hinduism kept on debating over the soul, salvation, and basic principles of life. Jainism, Ajeevaka, and Buddhism took philosophically independent paths, whereas most of the populace followed their idol worship for its simplicity.
So this does not prove at all that the Vedas are the source of Hinduism. This has been distinct religion and though in a later course, Vedics of the Smarta sect accepted idolatry to some extent during the Gupta era, they tried to Vedicise them by creating easily detectable fabricated myths around Hindu deities. Even so, still, Shiva and Shakti remain non-Vedic and scholars including Dr. RN Dandekar acknowledge this fact. There is no relation between Hindu and Vedic religions. Both have independent sources and different social orders.
Vedic ritualistic practices also are too distinct the way their Gods are. Puja was never part of Vedicism. Had Vedas been source of the Hinduism, Vedas and Vedic gods would have remained dominant even today for the entire Hindu society. But except for Vedics , none follows Vedic ritualistic practices and their Gods. It is ridiculous to consider both religions the same and that Vedas are the source of Hinduism. The socio-cultural history does not support this claim!

Vedic fanaticism on rise!
The irony is the people who do not know Hindu religion, its heritage, and cultural ethos are asking for “Hindu Rashtra”! These same Vedicised people see obscenity in the sculptures of Khajuraho. These are the same people who do not understand even the meaning of secularism but want it to be removed from the preamble of the constitution! These are the same people who thrash or kill the innocents on the issue of the cows who once upon a time consumed beef as a religious routine! It clearly indicates that the Vedic community now under the disguise of the Hindu religion is up to destroying Hindu religion itself!
In Hindu tradition, sex is considered to be the most sacred act. Female sexual organs are worshiped since millenniums throughout the country. Lord Shiva is the highest worshiped God by Hindus in his phallic form in his eternal union with Devi. Shivalinga has been a symbol of the creation of the universe. Hindu Dharmashastras (Tantras) elaborates sanctity of the sexual act. Male-female equality has been the base of the Hindu philosophy. “Kamshastra” of Vatsyayana is a first scientific treaty in the world that deals with the healthy sex and love. None had thought that erotic or obscene text except these Vedic morons. They want to ban the sale of the book in Khajuraho complex!
Khajuraho is Shiva temple! Many artistic sculptures, depicting sexual activities, marvel the spectators coming from all over the world. It is a World Heritage site that shows what a freedom Indians enjoyed when Vedicism had not infected the Hindus. “Vasantotsava” (spring festival) used to be celebrated by the youngsters together and many love affairs and marriages would emerge from it. It was the Hindu tradition nourished by the Hindus that always exploded with full vigor of liveliness. They have been true seculars!
Being secular is the soul of the Hindu society.
These Vedic morons know not what being secular is! Secularism is related with the freedom of material and spiritual life of the people. It has nothing to do with the religion.
Vedic religion is restrictive. It tries to bind human life in the strict commands of their Smritis. Women are deprived of their freedom. They are deprived of sensuous joy. They want males too should be abided by the inhuman religious commands. They want society be divided. . It doesn’t understand the meaning of the human liberty! The dictatorship of religion over the State (King) is commanded in every Smriti. The kind of State Vedic religion seeks is dangerous to the human society.
Now, bolstered by their political victory, the fanatic outfits are gathering to demand “Hindu Rashtra”! No. It is not the Hindu Rashtra they want! They want “Vedic Rashtra” where religion will be supreme over the State. Golvalkar Guruji had sown the seed of this Vedic concept in which other religions have no place! Using term Hindu is a fraud! Hindus should be aware of this and should see independently their own religious heritage and traditions! They should not fall prey to their ulterior schemes. No…do not get deceived by the word ‘Hindu’. They are not Hindus!
They will again enslave you by their art of deception!

Vedicist Kalyanraman and the Sarasvati!

Kalyanraman is the dumbest writer I ever came across. He believes that the Sarasvati River was one among Sapta Sindhu, i.e. seven rivers that flowed through northwestern India. He states that this region belonged to the Panchajana, five people, and that about 80% of the Indus civilisation sites are located on the banks of the Sarasvati river (which has been known to the Indians as Ghaggar since time unknown.) He has shifted the complete geography of the River Sarasvati, highly revered by the Vedic Aryans, to stake a huge claim on the authorship of the Indus-Ghaggar civilisation. To do this he recklessly neglects geological proofs, and geography appearing in the Rig Veda and makes out a theory that is flimsy and misguiding.
Geologically it has been proven beyond doubt that the Ghaggar River never ever had a glacial source. It also has been proven with new geochemical and geomorphological studies that Yamuna and Sutlej stopped flowing into the Ghaggar /Saraswati thousands of years before the Harappan civilisation. Ghaggar is fed from Shivaliks and not Himalayan glaciers. No Drushadvati river belongs to the Indian soil that is said to be a tributary to Vedic Sarasvati.
It is a fact that the River Ghaggar was a perennial river before 1800 BC because of the wetter monsoon. It also is a fact that there are over a thousand Indus-Ghaggar sites along the channel of old Ghaggar. But as the climate changed, gradually the Ghaggar shrunk and just became a seasonal river. Not only India but from Mesopotamia to China, a vast track suffered from this climatic change. However, though seasonal, Ghaggar was never a lost river. How come the most revered river of the Vedics changed its name from Sarasvati to Ghaggar? Vedic has no answer to this vital question.
“Since this work, no new data challenging these results have appeared. Scientists, as evidenced by this paper, appear to now accept that the Ghaggar was a monsoonal river right through the Holocene. This result has annoyed not only geologists who had proposed the glacial river theory but also supporters of the indigenous Aryan Theory. They had used the glacial river theory to time the presence of the Vedic people in the plains of Haryana and Punjab before 2000 B.C.” States Sedimentary Geologist Suvrat Kher.
Linking the Ghaggar with the Rig Vedic Sarasvati is insanity because the geography and the people they inhabited do not match at all with the indigenous Aryan theory. There has surfaced no evidence that can link the Ghaggar civilisation with the Vedic. There is no semblance in the residential patterns of the Vedics and Indus people. They didn’t know even the bricks and granaries. They didn’t know the great baths and brick-paved streets.
The Rig Veda nowhere mentions the famous Kurukshetra through which the Saraswati is supposed to have flowed. Had the Ghaggar been the lost Saraswati and the Bharata clan of Sudasa ruled on the banks of the most revered river Saraswati and in whose reign, the most sacred scriptures had been composed, one would expect his mention in Mahabharata. But that is not the case.
We are aware of the tribes frequently mentioned in the Rig Veda with which the Vedics had constant relations as friends or foes. Rig Veda mentions that Turvasa, Pakhta, Bhalanasa, Parshu, Bhrigu, etc. are the tribes that were settled from northwest bordering regions of the Indian subcontinent to Phrygia. The geography of Avesta suggests it was close to the Vedic geography. The wars fought on the Iranian plateau among them and Vedics find a place in both the scriptures, i.e. Avesta and Rig Veda. Both religions possess so much close affinity that without geographical closeness it is impossible to happen
Had they been in India while they composed Vedas, there would be ample mention of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers because they were the rivers that flowed in close vicinity with the vast channels. The Yamuna had stopped flowing into the Ghaggar channel millenniums before the Indus civilisation As rivers, Yamuna and Ganga, with few others, find mention only once in Nadistuty Hymn, the creation of the later period, and nowhere else, we can clearly see that the Vedic Aryans came across these rivers in the late era. Vedic Sarasvati, which flowed through Afghanistan was lost to them by that time except for the wonderful memories of the bygone days.
Apart from the river Sarasvati, the most frequently mentioned river is Rasa which is equated with Avestan Ranha, now identified with the River Tigris. After Rasa, there comes Sarayu which is alternatively called Haroyu or Hari-rud. The rivers Gomati (Gomal), Kubha (Kabul), Krumu (Kurram), Suvastu (Swat), Arjikiya (Haro), etc. are the rivers that flow from Afghanistan and its western regions. Many other rivers mentioned belong to the western tributaries of the Indus. The lack of mention of the eastern rivers just suggests that the Vedic people never knew those regions. Had the composers of the Rig Veda been inhabitants of the Ghaggar basin, there wouldn’t be frequent mention of such faraway rivers. Rather we would find the mentions of Ganga, Yamuna, and other eastern rivers and their tributaries. Surprisingly we find mention of Ganga, Yamuna, and Indian rivers only once in the late mandala, in Nadisukta. Still, the Vedic people want to forward their unfounded theory on indigenous Aryans, i.e. Vedic people.
Let us not forget that the nearest distance of the river Swat from Ghaggar is not less than 800 kilometers. All other rivers mentioned are beyond that location. Indus is the common synonym for the river in Vedic vocabulary, hence it always cannot be equated with the Indus river! So, Vedic being residents of the Ghaggar basin is just an imaginary hypothesis that doesn’t stand on the grounds of any proof.
So, no matter how Vedicist scholars want to twist the geological history of the Ghaggar River to make their point, no matter how back they want to stretch the time of the Rig Veda, they simply cannot prove the composers of the Vedas were residents of the Ghaggar basin. Thus Kalyanraman and his colleagues want to prove unprovable, but alas, none of his statements gets support from either geological findings or Rig Veda! They now should know this is the end of the Vedicism!

Myth of the 'Vedic Age'!
I wonder when I see all the time the Vedicist scholars of the modern-day, even IIT'ans relate advanced mathematics and other sciences to the Vedic times. I wonder what Vedic times they speak about? Is there any historical proof that shows the particular era was the Vedic times?
To call Vedic times it should be assumed that the Vedicism was spread almost in all parts of the country. We must then admit that the scholars of every branch were Vedics. There should be no hesitation in admitting to the facts if they are proven, at the least to some extent.
But what facts tell us?
a. Vedas originated in ancient Iran around about 1500 BC.
b. Entry of the Vedic religion in this country was around about 1000 BC.
c. Mature Indus Civilisation's attested period is 2600 BC.
d. The Vedics sought the first refuge in the valley of Indus and then moved towards Kuru-Panchal and Videha region. Later they established in Magadha where they had to face tremendous resistance from Lokayats, Jainism, and Buddhism. (6th Century BC) It took another four to six hundred years for the Vedics to come out of the setback and spread throughout the country by way of the conversions. It was a slow process. Hence till the second century AD, Vedic religion remained in obscurity.
e. Vedas and early Vedic literature in itself don't contain any science or scientific view. Their mathematical knowledge was rudimentary and limited to the construction of the fire altars.
f. We do not find a trace of any Vedic element, even the language, on the numismatic or inscriptions across the country beginning from the sixth Century BS till the First century AD.
g. It is proven beyond doubt that the creation of the major three darshans, Upanishads, and Agamic literature can not be linked with the Vedic tradition and some of them are anterior to Vedas.
h. Long before Vedic entry in India, in 2000 BC, Indians already had invented the iron and were making implements from them including scientific devices like one that to draw the circle. (Refer to the excavations in the Gangetic region) Vedas did not know iron till they came to India. Indus civilization is known for its architectural advancements and manufacture of specialty goods and metalworks. Without the scientific background, this is not possible. This does mean that the Indians were far advanced long before the Vedics entered the Indian subcontinent.
i. If at all there was any Vedic era that was during Gupta reign when the Vedic religion got royal patronage and a chance to spread their religion by polluting the history. But we still do not find any advancement in the science that can be termed as "Vedic". The tradition of the science of metallurgy, architecture, shipbuilding, textile, etc. finds its advanced stage right from 2600 BC till a later era which has nothing to do with the Vedic tradition.
j. Few Vedic mathematicians indeed did emerge, like Aryabhata, Varahmihira, etc. who substantially contributed to the mathematics but the ground already was prepared by the Hindus i.e. the people following traditional non-Vedic religion.
k. None of the reputed and revered Vedic gods ever reached to high esteem in India. This clearly indicates that the Vedic age is a carefully nourished myth.
Hence, the objection is referring to the Vedic age when it was nonexistent before the second century AD. Later also, though the Vedics gradually became socially dominant because of the converts and royal patronages, still 85% of the Hindu populace kept on following their own religion and ritualistic practices. Vedics could not extinguish the Hindu religion though they hated it. To this date, Hindus are adhering to their own religion though they have psychologically accepted the Vedic supremacy! The constant propaganda about the sanctity of the Vedas and fire sacrifices helped them penetrate the psyche of the general masses. However, there is no reason to believe ever there was era Vedic era and that all scientific advancements belong to them!
India had achieved monumental advancement millenniums before the Vedic religion was founded! They came to India as refugees, not as conquerors. Foreign dynasties like the Kushans even do not acknowledge their existence! You may refer to the Rabtak inscription of Kanishka to know this very fact. Is there any physical proof that can substantiate their claim of the Vedic Age?
But they have a web of speakers. They have a bunch of intellectual goons that so faithfully distort the history and proofs to misguide and misinform the Hindus so that the illusion of Vedic supremacy remains unshaken even in the modern era.
The tragedy is Hindus do not much take interest in the cultural and religious history of their strife for survival and fighting against the odds. They are the majority and yet intellectually influenced by the alien religion because of the constant Vedic propaganda and apathy towards the schemes those Vedics have been designing all the time to ensure their reign over them.
There was nothing called Vedic science. To term any science as Vedic, you need to prove that the unbroken tradition of all the branches of old science was introduced, commanded, and practiced by them for the benefit of the intellectual paupers! There is not a single instance to prove that! Still, they brag on every platform about "Vedic achievements" and "Glory of the Vedic forefathers!". Yes, there were some extraordinary intellectuals among them also, but they were not originators of any. Most of the later Vedic philosophy is a reaction to the Hindu philosophy!
The history evidences how they hijacked even the local deities like Vitthala and Tirupati. Attempts to hijack Shiva and Shakti are ancient and yet we find their antagonism towards both the major deities of the Hindu religion. Examples are many. They hijacked deities, philosophy, and the cultural ethos of the Hindus making them inferior to them when they were not! This is the time to stop all these practices and abandon the psychological burden that is created by the Vedics for their selfish motives.
-Sanjay Sonawani
Vedics are not Hindus!
We the Hindus are not revivalists. RSS' constant Vedicist propaganda and lies about "Vedics knew all" has defamed Hindus across the world because of the subterfuge claims and that too by misusing the name "Hindu". RSS do not propagate Hinduism. It is a Vedicist organization by core and principles. Veil of the Hindu identity is taken just to promote the Vedic ideology.
We, the Hindus, believe that India was advanced in many branches of the science even before the Vedic entry in India, continued to enjoy fruits of the technological advances till recently, but we do not think it is a reason to boast. We have due reverence towards our forefathers who has sailed us up to here through the good and bad times. Every civilization of the past was advanced in some or other technologies. Egyptians had the technology to build massive Pyramids, which remains unparallel with others. We respect all the civilizations on the equal footings for their ingenious advancements.
RSS and the allied scholars think otherwise. Golvalkar says in his key book ‘We or Our Nationhood Defined” that Hindusthan (India) was a land of plenty with advanced science, cultivation, industries, and a culture “which made every individual a noble specimen of humanity, truth and generosity, under the divine influence of which, not one of the hundreds of millions of the people, ever told a lie or stole or indulged in any moral aberration” (p 46).
Of course, this is a lie. To revive Vedicism telling false glories of the past is a dirty business of the RSS people. The cultural heritage RSS scholars speak about is always connected with the Vedics. This is why the stories are kept on floating about the Vedic science, Vedic mathematics, Vedic surgery and all. By misinterpreting archaeological and scriptural data, they want to prove that the Indus civilization was authored by Vedic Aryans! So when they say "Hindutva" it essentially means "Vedicism", not else.
So in words, they call themselves "Hindu" and yet they want to credit everything to Vedic origin. This is nothing but a cultural fraud. They are trying to claim almost everything which remotely cannot be associated with the Vedic tradition. They keep on boasting the non-existent achievements of the Vedics. There never existed Vedic age in India! There is no proof to indicate that right from 1500 BC till 600 BC ever existed Vedic age! Not even a single excavated or numismatic evidence points out at such hypothetical age in India.
It was Swami Dayananda Saraswati, who, seeking to reform Hindu religion and Hindu society first propounded the idea of a Vedic Golden Age and asked Hindus to ‘return to the Vedas’ This concept was later persuaded by Savarkar and Golwalkar gave it finishing touches. In short, to the so-called Hindu revivalists, Vedic age was the Golden age! Hindus nowhere were counted because to them they were subjugated savages by the mighty Aryans! Now, they promote indigenous Aryan theory, however, the supremacist view is not abandoned.
“Vastu Shastra has its beginnings in Rig Veda and is scientific in its tenor. Today, the whole world is looking at green living, thanks to the way we are suffering due to erratic concretisation. The concept of Vastu revolves around the healthy relationship of nature and infrastructure, hence its modern relevance,” Joy Sen, IIT Kharagpur faculty member of the institute was quoted by Times of India.(17th April 2017) on the backdrop of the announcement of the introduction of Vastushastra classes in Architecture!
Can't you see the pattern? The most superstitial things, those too not remotely related with the Vedas in any way, are being introduced in the curriculum. This is Vedic insanity! It is sheer ignorance marred with the Vedic supremacist thought. How can we the Hindus accept it?
This way, on fraud, they want to establish the nationalism that dreams of imposing the fourfold social order of the Vedics on the Hindus. The ulterior dream is so dangerous, not only for the other minor religions but majority Hindu population. Vedic is a different religion. It has nothing in common with Hinduism. Both traditions are distinct in every respect. The division was always in place and recognized. Their calling themselves "Hindu" in itself is an example of their deceitful nature.
Hindu's should understand the Vedic schemes. They are not for Hindus but Vedics. They want to revive Vedicism. With all due respect to the Vedic religion, better is Hindus stay away from the Vedicists!

Why Vedic priests in Hindu temples?
Who are Vedics? Vedic just is another religion amongst others. It is independent of all other religions philosophically having no relation with the other religions. It has been proved on all grounds that the Hindu idolatrous tradition has been anterior to all other religious traditions of India which still remains practically dominant in the country. The Vedicism, based on four Vedas and various Smritis, having its own ritualistic structure is an independent religion. There is no common factor including philosophy that anyway can even remotely connect both the religions.
They now have become priests of many Hindu temples creating false myths and incorporating Purushasukta in the prayers. Common Hindu do not know this that the Purushsukta itself is not Hindu! Just for the sake of survival in supremacist order is their serious psychological problem and blasphemy which has proved to be a serious threat to Hindu religion! In fact, no prayer is correct that is made through the Vedic priests, no matter what religious occasion is! It is grand cheating of the religious Hindus as the prayers are not directed to their gods but Vedic gods! In no religion such kind of deceit has been played! They remain Vedic throughout! They perform all their rites by Vedic methods in their own social and personal life. How can they be appointed then the priests of the Hindu temples? How long Hindus want to remain ignorant not to understand the simple things? Can they not just pray their own god in own words and style? Wouldn't it be better if they really have faith in their own gods? How they can allow Rudrabhishek on Shiva when Rudra is an alien god to Shiva?
Then why they shy away from calling them Vedics as a separate independent religion? Why do they want to hide their self in disguise of Hinduism? Why they get angry, terrified or agonized when told that they belong to the different religion and that they are committing blasphemy by calling themselves Hindu?

Ramayana-Mahabharata happened long before Vedic entry!
Hindu religion has been hijacked by the Vedics and using it as a tool in pushing forth Vedic policies. Ignorant Hindus know not that what they are being told is not part of their religion at all. Ram was never Kshatriya. He was never a pupil of any Vedic sage. He did now save fire sacrifices from the destruction at the hands of Asuras. It couldn’t be because the time line does not match at all. There is no possibility whatsoever that at the time of Ramayana Vedics had stepped in the Indian subcontinent. To reach to the Gangetic regions to preach their religion they took another couple of hundred years. The Vedic elements and personalities we find today in Valmiki Ramayana is nothing but criminal interpolation!
The same applies to Mahabharata. The Mahabharata shows the social structure that prevailed in the Kuru-Panchal region which nowhere matches with the Vedic social doctrine. The human relationships are contrary to what appears in the Vedic literature and Smritis. It is agreed by the scholars that Mahabharata story took place after Ramayana. Whether it really happened or is an imaginary story, still the original social structure that forms the background of Mahabharata couldn’t have been imaginary. No Vedic element fits into the social picture. Though the later editions are heavily interpolated with the Vedic stories and praises of Vedas and all, they fall apart as we go carefully through the social structure that undeniably is non-Vedic. To make it sound somehow Vedic, explanatory stories have been concocted and inserted recklessly. For example, there are five different stories to explain marriage of Draupadi with five brothers! There are explanatory stories of the birth of Bhishma, Drona, Vyasa and even Pandavas!
The social practice of those times itself shows a transitory phase of Indian society of remote past. Vedic ancient literature is completely devoid of any story that can remotely equal this. This indicates that Mahabharat too had taken place long before Vedic entry in Kuru-Panchal region. There couldn’t be fourfold Varna system then. Rama or Krishna couldn’t have been Kshatriyas as claimed!
Vedics used famous local stories to promote their religion by incorporating Vedic elements, annexing old Vedic mythologies those never belonged to this soil. The history of India is thus have been heavily corrupted by the Vedics to psychologically subjugate the Hindus by stealing their heritage.
Adim Hindu Parishad aims to expose the Vedic designs by letting Hindus know what they were and how the Vedics have culturally looted them! Vedic is an alien religion to Hindus that one must understand. Remove the infiltrated Vedic elements from any ancient literature and you will get the clear picture of your culture!
